John Michael Osbourne, conocido artí­sticamente como Ozzy Osbourne, nacido el 3 de diciembre de 1948 en Birmingham (Inglaterra), es un cantante y compositor con una carrera de más de 40 años de actividad. En sus inicios, fue parte de la formación original de la prestigiosa banda de heavy metal "Black Sabbath" a la que se le atribuye ser creadora de dicho género, a principios de los años 70, para después iniciar una carrera como solista a principios de los años 80, logrando grandes éxitos y revolucionando nuevamente el género. Es conocido como "The Godfather of Heavy Metal (El padrino del heavy metal) y "The Prince of Darkness" (El prí­ncipe de la oscuridad). Ha sido certificado por la RIAA multiplatino por las ventas de varios de sus álbumes en solitario. Con el cambio de siglo, además, ha adquirido una gran repercusión mediática, sobre todo, por su aparición en el reality show emitido por la MTV The Osbournes, basada en el dí­a a dí­a de su controvertida familia. Fue introducido al Hall of fame of rock en el año 2008 el dia de su cumpleaños numero 60.
